          Meet BC 1 anchor: Leigh Kjekstad

          Leigh Kjekstad was born and raised in Victoria, B.C.

          She considered being a print journalist in high school, but realized that telling stories that involved pictures and television was much more up her alley.

          For university, she went back east to Queen’s University where she received her Bachelor of Arts (Hons.) degree in Culture, Communication, and Information Technology.

          “I dropped by the Beach Campus this summer to pick up a copy of Keith Walker's new book about the history of Glenlyon.

        1. This paper presents a broad overview, characterization and visualization of the interaction relationships between 21 natural hazards, drawn from six hazard.

        5. Following Leigh’s four years in Kingston, she traveled south to Syracuse, New York to attend the SI Newhouse School of Communications at Syracuse University. She received her Master of Science degree in Broadcast Journalism in 2001.

          Leigh’s professional career began in Beckley, West Virginia where she was hired as a “one-man band” reporter. She was later promoted to morning and noon anchor and producer.
